Age Eligibility

Scholastic Division applicants are amateur athletes who are 17 years of age or younger as of August 31 of the year in which the Summer ESG are taking place. Lacrosse applicants must be at least 13 years of age, as of April 30 of the year in which the Summer ESG are taking place, in order to tryout. Applicants may be required to produce a birth certificate or valid NYS Drivers License or Non-driver ID as proof of age.

2009 Empire State Games Coverage

With the recent news of budget cuts slicing into the Empire State Games format, and then the withdrawl of the Hudson Valley Organizing Committee, we are all waiting to see just how, or if, the 2009 Empire State Games will skake out. Needless to say there is great disappointment throughout New York and across the lacrosse Nation. America's first statewide olympic-style competition has always been a great asset for New York, and a great showcase of the State's best athletes.
