I was talking, moving, and doing everything I could to keep that ball out of our goal. I went for a ground ball on the crease. I opened up as an outlet when my goalie picked up a ground ball just outside the crease. And I used my free hand to push an attackman off another GB on the crease.

Many of us are on record with very strong thoughts about what “Grow The Game” really means. Others may try to lay out a roadmap to growing the sport of lacrosse. Or they talk about the one, two, or three key things that are central to growing the game. To us, growing the game is not a list. It is also not a formula. There are countless ways to Grow The Game, and without all of them happening at once, none of them will work as effectively.
By Alice Mercer, Assistant Coach, Niagara University @NiagaraWLAX

Throw in the opportunity to catch a Binghamton practice on my way back down south, and needless to say, my weekend was set.

Learning new skills, building friendships, forming good fitness habits and working collectively with others towards a common goal are all positive outcomes associated with sports, including lacrosse. This past week I drove to the Syracuse area – and back – four times in five days. That’s not far, mind you, but I only did it because of my older son Brian. “This stick was made to be used,” he will say. “Honor it. Make that stick happy and take it down sometimes and use it, then put it back on the wall.”
