When US Lacrosse announced the changes to the stick stringing requirements for women’s lacrosse sticks earlier this month, social media was excited and a proliferation of images of women’s sticks with a mesh pocket quickly emerged. Excitement and interest is a great thing for any game, so I was happy to see that many players involved in the game saw the potential of these stringing changes. But honestly, the focus on using a men’s mesh pocket in a women’s stick was not the intent or goal of the changes, but one of the many consequences.

Hobart College lacrosse All-American Frank Brown (Silver Creek) was drafted by the Georgia Swarm during the National Lacrosse League Draft last night. The 2017 NEC Player of the Year was the 24th overall pick.

Brown was the first pick of the third round. Over the summer, he was also drafted by the Rochester Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse.

BOSTON — 3d Lacrosse has announced an agreement with the United Women’s Lacrosse League to take over all aspects of the four-team professional league’s operations in a move that will spawn new opportunities for women and girls lacrosse players nationwide.

Beginning immediately, 3d Lacrosse will assume management of the United Women’s Lacrosse League – also known as UWLX – including its field operations, scheduling, player relations, personnel, marketing and communications.
