Ryan Powell has been an influential figure in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) world since the league’s Summer Showcase in 2000. Since then, Powell has played for the Rochester Rattlers, the San Francisco Dragons, and the Denver Outlaws. He has been named league MVP twice (2001 and 2006), has won the Offensive Player of the Year Award (2006), was a six-time MLL All-Star, and won the MLL All Star Game MVP in 2008. Most recently, the decorated star has taken his knowledge of the sport to Powell Lacrosse, his brand.

Hard to believe it’s been more than two months already, but just about the only item on my 2020 calendar on the pages from March through October that came off (mostly) as planned was a week of camping at Fish Creek Ponds State Campground in mid-August.
Paul Carcaterra broke the news to John Desko. It was May 18, more than two months after the coronavirus pandemic halted No. 1 Syracuse’s 2020 season at 5-0, and Carcaterra — an attack at Syracuse under Desko from 1994 to 1997 — set up a conference call with a few former SU players.
His brother, Brian, and the US Lacrosse’s executive board had just decided on the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020. One of the selections was Desko.
“We're really excited, and I'm excited to be a part of the new league,” Treanor said in a phone interview from Chestnut Hill, Mass., where she is now associate head women’s lacrosse coach at Boston College.

Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA Board of Regents met Thursday to discuss NJCAA student-athlete eligibility for the 2020-21 academic year. Following the Board of Regents' vote, all 2020-21 NJCAA sport seasons (fall, winter, spring) will not count towards student-athlete eligibility. The eligibility relief is provided to all NJCAA student-athletes regardless of sport season participation in the 2020-21 academic year.

SPARKS, Md. — U.S. women’s national team head coach Jenny Levy and her staff have announced that 50 players have been invited to the official tryout for the U.S. team that will represent the country in the 2021 World Lacrosse Women’s World Championship.

Yes, I started playing lacrosse in elementary school, and it was the first organized sport introduced to me. But I was also a voracious reader by then, too. My Saturday mornings weren’t filled with cartoons – that’s when I stayed in bed and read. Michael Lazore, 2006 Immaculate Heart Central graduate, played at Division I Hobart after starring for the Cavaliers. He went on to help the Iroquois National Team win the bronze medal in the 2014 and 2018 World Lacrosse Championships. He played more than 90 pro games in his eight-year Major Lacrosse League career before opting to retire at the end of last season, helping the Rochester Rattlers reach the MLL championship game in 2014 and 2015.
Who am I? Who are we? These are some of the questions we have been asking ourselves since the COVID-19 pandemic drastically altered our lives. It has forced many of us to reevaluate what and who is most important to us.

My 93-year old Dad took a fall about a month ago, which resulted in a hairline fracture of his femur, pain meds, and rest. When the prescription for the meds ran out, the pain got worse, and more drugs were ordered. That led to digestive discomfort, which led to a hospital visit on Friday, October 2. Anxiety, the strangeness of a hospital room, and more meds led to hallucinations.
I truly believe that when an athlete learns to grind, they are on the path to becoming good...

On September 10th, US Lacrosse announced a new virtual series called "She Competes" that launched late in September. According to US Lacrosse, the six-part series had the aim of exploring "...some of the issues that impact young girls and women in sports, both as athletes and members of the sports industry." Kayla Treanor was one of the Syracuse alumni selected to participate in the event. She served as one of the panelists for the last webinar of the series that was on Diversity and Inclusion.

It’s been easy for Hobart coach Greg Raymond to see silver linings amid the unique circumstances of the 2020 fall season. That's because his players have learned to be present and appreciate each moment they’re in.
“They're as dialed in as they’ve ever been,” Raymond says. “We’re already getting guys coming into the office — by appointment, masked up of course — saying, ‘Can we stay here during Thanksgiving break? Can we stay here during Christmas?’ They’re in it completely.”

VESTAL, N.Y. - Head women's lacrosse coach Stephanie Allen has completed her staff with the hiring of assistant coach Kali Hartshorn.
