Senior Nick Lococo and Junior Steve Ianzito combined for 13 points, and Nick Blumer added 3 goals and an assist to power the Northstars over the #19
B'ville Bees Tuesday night at Bragman Stadium. But the defense should also get a big nod in this game as they held the #2 goal scorer in Section 3,
Jeremy Boltus, to just two goals, and the Section's top assist and point man, Jack Venditti, to one assist on the evening. And when the Bees did get shots
off, goalie Jamie Praino came up big with 15 saves. The Northstars remain undefeated in League play at 4-0.

Northstars double-up Auburn 14-7
The Northstars put forth their most complete game of the season, playing dominate lacrosse both offensively and defensively the entire game.
While still smarting from the loss of our faceoff men (Mike Sciarrino and Matt Didone) to injury, Jeff Gilbert, Mike DeBottis and Mike Barnes more than
held their own against the Maroons. Defensively, Jamie Praino was at the top of his game and the poles, Nick Taddeo, Nick DellePelle and Mick Krajacic,
gave Auburn little room to breathe. The Northstars also added a new harassing ride to their arsenal and it proved effective, catching the Auburn defense
unprepared to match our intensity with their clearing attempts. Offensively, CNS moved the ball well and put 9 past the Auburn defense in the 1st half.
Nick Blumer (2-0), Stephen Ianzito (3-0), Jeff Gilbert (1-3), John Stimson (1-0) and Mike DeBottis (0-1) hit the scoring column for the middies.
Attackers that put some damage on the board included Nick Lococo (3-3), Jim Haney (2-0) and Adam Neider (2-0). In the goal, Jamie Praino finished with
7 saves and 4 goals allowed and Devin Heldt finished at 3 saves and 3 allowed. CNS hosts Bville (Tues) and FM (Friday) next week.
Photos from the Auburn game can be found here.

CNS Future Stars

The CNS Boys Lacrosse Booster Club hosted the Roxboro Road and Gillette Road modified programs at Bragman Stadium as part of the Future Stars
Recognition program. The CNS Varsity played the Auburn Maroons and treated the crowd to a 14-7 victory. Each modified player was individually
introduced at half-time and enjoyed a pizza party in the concession stand. This program was started this year by the boosters and is expected to
introduce the players and parents to the wonderful program our district enjoys, with a very active booster organization and the best facilities in the
league (and state!).
More Future Stars photos can be found here.

Concession stand reminder
This season, CNS is host to the Section III playoffs as well as a State Regional round and the State Finals. In lieu of a fund raiser (chocolate,
magazines, etc), the booster club was recruited to run the concession stand for not only the JV and Varisty home games but all of the Section III
Tournament and State Tournament as well. While the crew required to host a regular season home game is not very large, the hands required to handle
the Section III tourney is larger and the State Tournament is larger still. At the State level, we are expecting to have all 7 sales windows open and
operating, so you can imagine the requirements for staff working behind the scenes to keep the food and drinks flowing at such a high attendance event.
Please try to get involved early to gain some experience and be there for the boosters when the post season rolls around as your support will be required
to make this a success!
Please bring a hat to wear when behind the counter at the concession stand. Be prepared to laugh and have some fun, because it really is a good time
and an opportunity to show your kids you care! Larry Neider, our very efficient Concession Stand Coodinator, does an EXCELLENT job seeing that
everything runs smoothly and that everyone is prepared for the job, so don't worry about being a "newbie".

Boosters plan for next year
Self nominations are being taken for the four CNS Booster Club board positions (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) for 2008.
Three positions are currently held by parents of Seniors so there will be an urgent need for replacements. The next board meeting is May 10th and
anyone wishing to nominate, ask questions or just see what goes into planning for our teams is welcome. The board meetings are generally held in the
high school cafeterias around 6:30pm and only last about an hour. Also, and just as importantly, we have a need for next years Concession Stand
Coordinator as well as a Web Site contributor. Both positions are important to our organization and since we're losing both positions at the end of
the year, getting a volunteer for next year now would be a real help to get some cross-training done. Thanks!.

Lightning suspends Oswego game
Lightning caused play to be suspended with 6:23 left in the second quarter Thursday night in Oswego with the Northstars leading 4-3 on three goals
from Jeff Gilbert and one from Adam Neider. Play will resume on May 9th at 6PM in Oswego.

Freshmen win at Liverpool
After being snowed out against the West Genesee Wildcats on Wednesday, the
freshman Northstars opened the season April 20th on the road against the
Liverpool Warriors. The game started out very well for the Northstars with
Nick Oppedisano scoring the first goal of the young season early in the
first quarter. Liverpool scored one in the first quarter as well to tie the
game up at 1-1. The game remained that way until Rick Estrada got the
Northstars back on track in the third quarter with a goal, followed in the
fourth by another Nick Oppedisano goal that put the game away.
The Northstar defense did a tremendous job keeping the Warriors away from
the goal, with Ed Kashmer, Ryan Rufolo, Andy Falvey, Andrew Ellis, Chris
Wisniewski, Eric Centner and Ryan O'Mara being cited by Coach Hamilton. And
8th graders Joey Newton (midfielder) and Zach Ryan (goalie) did very well in
their first game playing freshman.
The Freshmen roster can be found here.

Fundraising plan for 2007
The Fundraiser event for 2007 is turning away from the traditional candy and magazines and towards the opportunity for all of us to help
make the Cicero-North Syracuse lacrosse program the talk of the state! Bragman Stadium will be hosting the New York State Boy's Lacrosse Championship
Finals this season, and the Booster Club will be handling the concession stand for this event, as well as for the Section III Championships and
early-round State Tournament games.
In lieu of the traditional fundraiser, we are looking for you to give some of your time helping to make these events not only major successes financially,
but also a great source of pride for both the CNS District and Section III. Please go to the
