NCAA Division I Men's Top 20 Preseason Poll for February 22nd

Poll-shaking events include Duke having trouble for the second game in a row, this time losing to Notre Dame by four, Navy losing to Loyola in overtime, UMBC suffering an unlucky bounce in their own overtime loss vs. Delaware, and Denver falling to Jacksonville in 3OT's.

Johns Hopkins and North Carolina had easy games, while Virginia had a battle with Drexel, and Syracuse held on after building an early lead with visiting Denver.

The results? #1 Syracuse gained one convert as #2 Virginia lost one of the two first place votes they had last week. Duke really paid the price for losing, dropping from #3 to #8 this week, while North Carolina (#4) and Notre Dame (#6) each climb two spots. Loyola jumped four places to #12, while UMBC and Navy both fell five slots, now sitting at #16 and #18, respectively. Bucknell climbed three to join Georgetown at #14, and Delaware cracked the Top 20, tied at #19 with Albany.

There could be even more movement next week as the IVY League teams begin play. Cornell and Princeton held their positions, while Harvard climbed one spot and Brown floated up two. All hope to gain more ground after hitting the field.
